Asphalt shingles are the most common residential roof in Sacramento, Rocklin, Roseville, Elk Grove, and the surrounding Placer and Sacramento County markets, and for good reason: a properly installed architectural shingle roof delivers 30 to 50 years of protection at a fraction of the cost of tile or metal. The catch is that the "properly installed" part is where most contractors fall short. Shingle selection is the visible decision. Underneath the shingles is where the system either succeeds or fails. We install GAF FeltBuster synthetic underlayment across the entire deck (not asphalt felt, which tears and rots), GAF StormGuard or WeatherWatch ice and water shield around every penetration and in valleys, GAF Pro-Start starter strip at the eaves, and GAF Cobra ridge ventilation at the peak. The ventilation step is the one most often skipped, and it is the one that causes premature shingle failure in our climate. A properly vented roof in Sacramento or Elk Grove summer heat lasts decades longer than the same roof without airflow.

Tear-off matters too. We do full tear-off down to the deck on virtually every installation. Re-roofing over old shingles voids the GAF warranty, traps moisture, and stresses the structure. During tear-off, our crews identify and replace any damaged decking before the new system goes down.

Permitting, city inspections, debris haul-off, and final GAF warranty registration are all included. You receive a documented warranty package at completion that protects your home and travels with the property if you sell.
